Krypton were appointed as the design and build contractor to deliver a brand new fully functioning fertility clinic. Located on the ground floor of an occupied building, this scheme was sympathetically delivered with minimum disruption to the building users.

Krypton were appointed as the design and build contractor to deliver a brand new fully functioning fertility clinic. Located on the ground floor of an occupied building, this scheme was sympathetically delivered with minimum disruption to the building users.

Project Profile

These works comprised the isolation of building services in line with the method agreed with our client and a full demolition and strip out taking the building back to its shell. On completion of the strip out, new MEP services and life safety systems, raised access floors, DB rated acoustic partitions and ceilings were installed.

 

Specialist clean air systems and plant were installed with a full set of MEP systems to the laboratory, cryogenic storage and procedure rooms. Essential services were backed up with uninterrupted power supply and an external backup generator.   

 

At the entrance to the building is a new reception area with a bespoke feature reception desk, where access can be provided via the video intercom door system. The scheme also provides general office space, consulting rooms, toilet facilities, staff amenities and dining area.

 

Challenge & Solution

Maintaining the life safety services during construction was imperative throughout this project. To ensure this, we designed and co-ordinated the medical gas systems to be placed externally within the landlords compound, validated the electrical services, and installed temporary fire alarm systems during the works.
