Following the creation of the new operating theatre department coffee room, office and toilet amenities, Krypton were appointed to the next phase of works at Chiltern Hospital to expand and refurbish the recovery theatre providing increased bed capacity.
To create the extra space, services were isolated, office and storage areas were demolished, and alterations were made to the existing roof. The construction of new perimeter walls was necessary in creating service voids and service ducting to facilitate the installation of new MEP services inclusive of medical gas pipework. Newly designed bed head trunkings were installed with UPS (uninterrupted Power Supply) system and medical bedhead lighting. Once the walls were built and plastered, Whiterock wall clad finishes were installed with medical cabinetry and secure drugs storage.
New fully automated doors were installed within the space to facilitate the safe transfer of patients to and from the operating theatres. New floor finishes and FF&E were also installed, enhancing the environment of this modern medical facility.
Hoardings and dust screens were installed surrounding site to provide safe segregation and reduce environmental nuisances such as dust. Due to working adjacent to live theatres, we ensured all works were programmed meticulously and in liaison with the facilities management team.
